As a not-for-profit specialist community legal centre, WLSWA is the only independent legal service for women in Western Australia. It is a leader in the industry. WLSWA provides accessible legal services on a non-discriminatory and equal basis to disadvantaged women in Western Australia. From a gender equality perspective, we strive to address inequalities in the legal system that negatively and disproportionately affect vulnerable women, especially victims/survivors of domestic and family violence who need specialized support in the areas of family law, child protection and compensation for criminal victims. We advocate on behalf of clients and educate stakeholders on these issues by acting holistically to empower and support women in the common legal issues they face.
