It`s hard to watch Netflix`s The Kissing Booth 2 without admiring Elle and Lee`s friendship. Their epic dancing skills, video game podcast, and unwavering support are some of the highlights of the movies. Although they go through their ups and downs in the original and sequel, they have always supported each other. Nevertheless, the penultimate part of the franchise definitely puts their relationship to the test. Lee navigates between his first serious girlfriend and his lifelong best friend, while she wonders where her next move will take — with Lee at UC Berkeley or with her boyfriend (and Lee`s brother) Noah at Harvard. In all three Netflix series movies, the following rules were revealed: Unfortunately, she ended the series with another BFF misstep when she broke one of the most important rules on her list. She doesn`t want to disappoint any of them, but Lee regularly reminds her of Rule 19, which says, «Always go to the same school as your beast.» The new rules for The Kissing Booth 3 are highlighted in bold. Unfortunately, there are only two new rules that we discovered, as much of the film focuses more on Lee and Elle`s to-do list. In a six-year flash-forward at the end of The Kissing Booth 3, viewers were happy that Elle and Lee remained friends in college and beyond. Rule #18: Always enjoy your beast`s achievements. Rule #5: Always do the Thanksgiving wishbone with your beast. We may have loved the friendship between Elle and Lee, but we weren`t big fans of the romance between Elle and Noah.

But while everyone is totally obsessed with Elle`s (somewhat problematic) romance with Noah, we`re a little more interested in another partnership: Elle`s friendship with Lee. Rule #9: Your best friend`s loved ones are taboo. While childhood BFF vows to abide by the long list of unbreakable rules, viewers know that some of those rules were broken as Elle and Lee transitioned from childhood to adulthood. She started the series with one of the biggest best friend infractions by violating rule number 9. Dating Lee`s older brother, Noah, was strictly forbidden, as the rule explicitly states: Your best friend`s parents are taboo. Rule #19: Always go to the same school as your pet. Rule #21: If you see something great, show it to your best friend. Of course, if she decides to follow her boyfriend to college, it would violate one of her and Lee`s «best friend rules.» In particular, Rule No. 19 causes big trouble for friends of The Kissing Booth 3. Rule #10: If one friend is sick/moody, the other is responsible for bringing supplies to make them feel better. With so much attention paid to the Beach Bucket List, we don`t learn much about the rules for best friends in the third film in the trilogy.
However, we learn two other rules: «Always help clean up your beast`s mess» (rule 3) and «always call your beast if you miss it» (rule 35). By Paul Fogarty | [email protected] — Let us know if the rules have been overlooked. Rule No. 19, as seen in previous Kissing Booth films, states that you «always go to the same school as your beast.» This leads to great friction between Lee and Elle, as the latter thinks of heading to a different coast than the first. We were never shown the full list of rules from The Kissing Booth trilogy, but over the course of all three films, many of them were revealed. She and Lee vowed to always go to school with their beast, according to rule number 19. Unfortunately, she decided otherwise. After lying to Lee and Noah that they were on the waiting list at UC, Berkley, and Harvard (she was actually accepted into both schools), she decided to make a new plan and go to the school of her choice.
But it turned out that participation in USC didn`t break their bond, it only strengthened it. As they face these challenges and their final year of high school, one thing doesn`t change: their strict list of rules for friendship. Sometimes they turn out to be the cause of their problems, sometimes as a solution, these laws have stayed with them since childhood — and there are many! Keep scrolling for a definitive ranking of The Kissing Booth`s most iconic friendship rules, based on how rigorously they should be followed. Since the first Kissing Booth movie hit Netflix in 2018, the rom-com trilogy has been built around a set of rules that best friends Elle Evans and Lee Flynn have followed since childhood. Rule #8: Best friends should tell each other when something gets stuck in their teeth or face. Rule #16: If your beast needs you there, you need to be there for your beast. We love these two beasts and everything they stand for. And while we find it a bit ridiculous that they have strict guidelines for their relationship, there are certainly hidden truths in their friendship rules. After the events of the previous two films, The Kissing Booth 3 takes place in the summer before she goes to college, but she has not yet decided whether she will go to Berkeley with her best friend or Harvard with her boyfriend. The friendship between Elle and Lee is one of the things viewers admire most about Netflix`s The Kissing Booth. In the first two parts of the trilogy, the beasts often resort to the rulebook they have established to keep each other in line and keep their friendship on track.
If Elle and Lee`s friendship is any indication of this, some rules are only meant to be broken. Rule #6: If you can`t talk to your best friend about something you`re doing, you probably shouldn`t. And the winner for whom the rule of friendship should be followed most strictly is rule #18: Always enjoy your beast`s successes. We like this friendship rule because sometimes it can be a little difficult to follow. Jealousy is a natural emotion, and there may be times when you are jealous of your best friend instead of enjoying her accomplishments. This rule pushes you to be a best friend by expecting you to always be happy for your best friend, no matter how the performance might affect you personally. This is a good idea and should be strictly followed in any BFF relationship. Since then, new rules have appeared in every movie and the same goes for the new Kissing Booth 3.
The only thing we can really say about this rule is yes. The secrets of the best friend should never be shared. What`s the point of having a BFF if they spread your private information everywhere? You and your best friend can share other people`s secrets, but your own secrets must remain sacred and inviolable.
